World War 1 All Over Again

World War 1 All Over Again

“If you reduce the lie to a scientific system put it on thick and heavy, and with great effort and sufficient finances scatter it all over the world as the pure truth, you can deceive whole nations for a long time and drive them to slaughter for causes in which they have not the slightest interest.” — Chief French Editor, Behind the Scenes in French Journalism, describing the organization of World War 1 propaganda in France. Ukraine “The Worst Case Scenario is World War III”

What happened in Ukraine is an Act of Warfare, a Coup d'etat supported by Foreign Powers What’s happened in Ukraine is part of a military and intelligence agenda, it is part of a global economic agenda, and is in fact an act of warfare, because it is a coup d’état, which was supported by foreign powers and there ample evidence to that effect, in addition, the US and NATO have been rehearsing the worst case scenario of World War III in various simulations and exercises, Michel Chossudovsky, professor of economics at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and an adviser to governments of developing countries, told the Voice of Russia. Ukraine is About Oil. So Was World War I

Ukraine is About Oil. So Was World War I

Ukraine is a lot more portentous than it appears. It is fundamentally about the play for Persian Gulf oil. So was World War I. The danger lies in the chance of runaway escalation, just like World War I. Let’s put Ukraine into a global strategic context. Read More »

Rivers as Weapons in Ancient War

Rivers as Weapons in Ancient War

Semiramis, queen of Assyria (seventh century BC) boasted in an inscription that she had extended her borders with courage and cunning: “I compelled rivers to run where I wanted, and I wanted them to run where it was advantageous.” Diverting rivers is an age-old environmental tactic in the history of war. According to Stratagems by Frontinus, a Roman commander and Manager of Aqueducts in Rome, Semiramis had conquered Babylon with a brilliant water trick. The Euphrates River flowed through Babylon, dividing the city in two. Semiramis ordered her engineers to divert the river, allowing her army to march in the dry river bed right into the heart of the city. The very same feat was attributed to the mythical sorceress Medea and to two historical conquerors of Babylon, the Persian king Cyrus and Alexander the Great. Read More »

Should we really be making money out of the First World War anniversary?

Should we really be making money out of the First World War anniversary

Which event taking place in Britain this year promises to offer many "commercial opportunities", serve "as an economic driver", "contribute to the regeneration" and provide "a great opportunity to promote" a "wonderful town"? The 450th birthday of Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon, perhaps, or the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow? No. It's the anniversary of the start of the First World War. Read More »

Hillary Clinton: Playing a Dog-Eared “Hitler” Card

Hillary Clinton Playing a Dog-Eared “Hitler” Card

Actions by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in the Crimea The frontrunner to become the next president of the United States is playing an old and dangerous political game — comparing a foreign leader to Adolf Hitler. At a private charity event on Tuesday, in comments preserved on audio, Hillary Clinton talked about actions by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in the Crimea. “Now if this sounds familiar, it’s what Hitler did back in the ’30s,” she said. USA declares war on democracy

USA declares war on democracy

Since the days of President Woodrow Wilson – that is, for roughly 100 years – the USA has been on a self-styled crusade to “make the world safe for democracy.” Colossal wars, hot and cold, were fought against German kaisers and fuhrers, Russian communists, and Third World nationalists. The American people were told they were “defending democracy.” Read More »

Russian Troops Take Up Positions In Sevastopol As Ukraine Teeters On The Brink Of Civil War

Russian Troops Take Up Positions In Sevastopol As Ukraine Teeters On The Brink Of Civil War

Russian military vehicles have been photographed in the main square of Sevastopol, and there are fears that Ukraine is about to plunge into a very bloody civil war. The pro-Russian eastern half of Ukraine is in a state of shock, and many living there are openly calling on Russia to militarily intervene to protect them against the protest groups that have seized power in Kiev. Down in the Crimea, where approximately 60 percent of the population is ethnically Russian, militia groups have formed to protect their region from the “fascist scum running around in Kiev with swastikas“. That quote is from a recent Time Magazine article, and it demonstrates the extreme level of tension that exists between the two halves of Ukraine right now. Perhaps a peaceful resolution can still be achieved, but at the moment a civil war seems quite likely. And if war does erupt, the truth is that it is going to be exceedingly difficult for Russia to stay out of it. Read More »

Israel real threat to world peace Analyst

A political analyst says Israel poses a “real threat” to world peace, adding the international community must deal with the menace before the outbreak of a third world war. In an interview with Press TV on Sunday, James Morris, a US-based commentator, said that Tel Aviv threatens both the region and the entire world, stressing, “How many wars has Israel started in the Middle East? Lebanon, Gaza, Palestine, over and over.” Read More »
